The Student Handout has been revised to improve clarity and has been enhanced with additional explanatory figures. Also, I have added explanations and questions to help students understand how starch and/or protein in seeds, milk, or muscle were useful for the plant or animal from which the food was derived.

The Student Handout has been revised to improve the logical sequence, clarify some of the questions, add better figures, and include an introduction to the nitrogen cycle.

I've had sleep paralysis; can't count how many times. Watch testimonies on YouTube of those who experienced sleep paralysis. Sleep paralysis is not that innocent. Also, the scientific explanation of sleep paralysis is just a theory that's being treated as if it were a fact, like the Big Bang theory being taught in science schoolbooks. Yet ironically Jesus Christ isn't a theory; his whole life and existence on this earth is a fact. You should say his name when you go through sleep paralysis by the way. I tried saying other things in sp to get out of it to see if his name was just a coincidence, but it didn't stop. It only stops when I manage to say Jesus's name.
I solved my OCD, depression, and anxiety using l-glutamine years ago and tried to share this with everyone with no response from anyone who’s tried this. Si am am not sure it works for everyone. My theory is that l-glutamine tablets helps alleviate irritation from food allergies and leaky gut. Glutamine also helps heal intestinal damage. Wheat and milk were my worst allergies and really helped when I avoided these foods and started glutamine. You can order this on Amazon from different brands. Please try and let me know if you get relief.
We yawn to prepare upper airways for sleep and other situations where clear and open airways are needed. My sleep apnea is greatly reduced by yawning and imitating yawning before before going to bed.
Contagioness is because we humans throughout history slept together and need to go to sleep together at the same time. There are also many many other behaviors we humans mirror each other. Ovulation, sneezing, nodding...
Hi, is the l-glutamine still working for your ocd? I’m gonna give this a try. I’ve been trying for many years as well to find some relief but no luck. How many mg’s do you take? Do you still use Jarrow brand? Thanks!
Oh Dear.
I take it you think dancing begins and ends with “twerking”.
I have the exact spasms in my arm it's not painful but happens often and u can't control or stop it.. it happens in lower forearm and will make your hand move quick multiple bursts. If Ms runs in your family get checked because that among other there symptoms could be the reason for twitches. Scares in your brain from me can cause misfire and twitching.. don't freak out go get checked could be anything but in my case my dad had ms I started having symptoms when I moved to a warmer climate and after tests find out I am like my dad slow progressive.. if it progresses get tests done whatever it is catch it early and u will be fine also try to keep stress to a minimum smoke weed lol.. that's my input.
Please see my response to the comment immediately below.
Thank you,

Hi I've helping some of my classmates about this topic can I have the the answer keys send to my email for reference. Thank you
I am puzzled by your comment, since I found the video at https://www.learner.org/series/the-habitable-planet-a-systems-approach-to-environmental-science/ecosystems/ecosystems-video/. Please try again.
Thank you,

Eureka!!! It seems I've found my brain tribe -
Wow, Literal tears of joy while reading the reply's! I'm 52yrs old and have profoundly struggled my whole life with (rapid recall) deficiencies as it were - The ramifications of which have afflicted my daily life throughout. Particularly within my attempts with education, learning, working...just living at large if you will.
I too have worked out a similar introduction protocol with my wife. The necessity of doing so occurred early in our marriage as I would avoid the introduction phase when seeing old friends while accompanied by my wife as an example. As you likely know from experience, it only took a few of these awkward interactions to result in the discussion of my inability to remember names. My precious and loving wife, has helped me immensely and in many different ways over our 31yrs of marriage - but notably, this crafted introduction protocol has been something of our secret and I've never shared it with anyone. To say your articulation of the same protocol hit home is an understatement!
Certainly I related to essentially every reply to the article, but I'd be remiss had I not responded specifically to yours Jarren ...just sorta' liberating if you will, so Thanks again!
Daniel
For a disability studies perspective on the use of CRISPR, see:
https://serendipstudio.org/oneworld/critical-disability-studies-theory-and-practice-2018/modern-eugenics-disability-theory-perspective
"During the eugenics movement, the concept of the perfect citizen began to take form as technology had given society the ability to prevent certain individuals from reproducing. As this idea took shape, the disability community was negatively impacted, since society held a belief similar to that of Peter Singer’s such that an individual with disability was not a “person” (Gabbard). While gene-editing technology continues to advance, issues raised during the eugenics movement have begun to resurface as we ask ourselves which conditions we should aim to eradicate. CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing is one such technology that has the potential to help erase lethal diseases from the population, but also has the potential to erroneously attempt to eradicate forms of human diversity such as disabilities (Hayden)."
I have added figures and extensively revised the Student Handout to improve student understanding. I have also added an optional section on the controversy concerning Golden Rice.

hi people, I know this comment comes long after the other ones but since I found these stories very helpful when trying to figure out what my dad was going through, I wanted to share my family's experience. Although my dad was initially believed to have had TGA episodes a couple of times over the course of a few years, these events became more frequent and he was subsequently diagnosed with transient epileptic amnesia (TEA). If you have had recurrent 'TGA', it may well be TEA - this is an underdiagnosed form of epilepsy that can come on in your 50s/60s, more so for men. He takes medication which instantly stopped the episodes, although unfortunately the medication doesn't resolve any memory issues that might have occurred. I would strongly encourage anyone who is having unexplained TGA-type events to look into TEA. A starting place is: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transient_epileptic_amnesia and this focused project in the UK: https://projects.exeter.ac.uk/time/index.php
Nice to see this blog. Last night was the 2nd time it happened. When I closed my eyes. On the left eye, i can see rooftops of a big place. No skyscrapers, red or orangish tile roofs. I was not moving, but the scene I am watching is moving. Like I am marvelling at the beautiful sight so I am looking laft to right. No vision on my right eye. After awhile, I opened my eyes and the light is on (night mode). I messaged my Aunt right away, she is into psychic stuff. I googled my experience and found out what it is called hypnagogic hallucination. Then tried to sleep again. The vision came back on my left eye. One person said, enjoy it. So, I did and I enjoyed the rooftops. But now, I am interested on what it means. The first time it happened, it was blurry, I had to think of what I am seeing, a coffee table and wooden sofa chairs around it. Oh, the ones we had when I was young. I thought maybe I miss my deceased parents and went to sleep.
Lately, I am interested in what I heard that we should be able to live all the different dimensions of life. What are the different dimdnsions and how to experience it? Maybe if I interpret my dreams, I wohld know. Thank you for this. I get to share my experience. And maybe explain what the rooftops mean. My husband said when he came home from work, maybe that will be our next holiday destination.
Hi Jim,
While I've been struggling with focal dystonia in my left hand for 4-5 years or so, I'm just now finding information on it. I came across your comment about concertina. I'm 57 and been a musician since young (mainly fiddle, but anything with strings). About 3 years ago, I thought I would try a completely different instrument thinking that my brain would not recognize the different hand position and cause my forearm/fingers to contract. It worked while I was just beginning to learn for the first year, but now that I am more familiar with it, and able to play tunes, it is now a serious problem.
While your dystonia sounds a bit different from mine, I would like to hear your your experience with the concertina. If you have had problems, please share any therapies that have worked for you.
While mine is left hand, mostly on my ring finger (but certainly affects my middle and pinky), the only thing that seems to help a bit is consciously relaxing my forearm, and playing with fingers extended rather than curled. But as you might guess is not ideal. I find it is more natural to play "from the forearm", but with a consciously relaxed arm, you still have independent movement of your fingers, and it relieves a lot of unnecessary tension. A couple years ago I tried massage and acupuncture with no improvement.
I look forward to hearing your experience with concertina.
thanks
dave
All I have to say is that I agree with almost everything you have spoken about. I myself have memories of that of princess Anastasia I believe because I know certain things that I would say most people wouldn't know. I also am the spiting image of Anastasia and I'm saying that I looked like her from her younger pictures to her older pictures, I have looked like her my whole life. I am of a special blood line which is referred to as pure blood. Now of course I am not Anastasia because I am only 27 but I do believe that I am a relative of hers. I have been having a rough life for the past few years along with my children getting taken from me for no reasonable explanation but I'm beginning to believe that they took them because it has a great deal to do with all of this.
You need to take a science class. Because nothing you stated is even remotely true. If you want to correct people make sure to actually do some research before attempting to do so. Color is not real. It's a wavelength. Its does not exist. And your brain makes around 30 billion calculations per second. It does not run slow. We only receive Information thats necessary.
Many of the links for the references don't work. Hope there is a way to fix that.
Black and white do not exist either. Black is the absence of reflected light and white is all the spectrums of light at once. But if unable to turn the wavelengths into an image in our brains. Then neither black or white exist....only wavelengths. Or maybe only white? Still working on this its pretty amazing to think about this at all.
Many years have passed since you wrote this and I am wondering if you ever found professional help for your husband to understand why this was happening. Being attacked by the man your suppose to feel safe with is scary and I hope nothing serious has happened because of it.
I have updated the tables to include all the new NGSS activities as of March 2021.

You cannot tell a single other person in the world what is defined as ugly or beautiful. Throughout history, various people have developed standards and opinions of what pleases the eye and what they find ugly and revolting. You will never change that with your dictates.....in fact people laugh at you.
The main revision has been a change in the symbols for the alleles of the genes on the model chromosomes to avoid confusion between lower case and capital letters (e.g., s and S).
Ingrid
We have added a brief section on cell differentiation to help students understand that the cell cycle and mitosis are not the only processes needed to make a human body. In addition, we have changed the symbols for the alleles of the genes on the model chromosomes to avoid confusion between lower case and capital letters (e.g., s and S).
Ingrid
The Teacher Notes have been substantially revised to include major developments through March 23, 2021. In the Student Handout, the main updates are inclusion of more recent references for the student research project.

The main revision has been a change in the symbols for the alleles of the genes on the model chromosomes, to avoid confusion between lower case and capital letters (e.g., s and S). If you have already made model chromosomes and do not want to change the symbols, we provide the older version of the Student Handout for your convenience.
