I occasionally see new emails to this site..it is too difficult to respond or help others at this site because it does not have any order to the dates posted. So the most recent is nearly impossible to find through years of posts. The most recent active sites for answers is to search Groups in Facebook. There is an Intracranial Research Foundation page on Google as research, but hasn't been active for a while. With cranial leaks, it's back to Facebook..good luck!

Thank you for sharing the info.

Mine was totally different. I was not scared. My mind was fully functional and active.
I saw my door open and a figure walked in. Only the outer frame work, almost
see-through. He sat next to me for a while and left. I could not see the face.

On a second occassion, I woke up with a bright light in my
room and my fridge made a loud noise. And I heard a voice.

Hi everyone. First of all, so much love to all of you brave and beautiful people. You are so supportive of each other here. It's such a wonderful thing because all of you are worthwhile and deserving of all of the love life has to offer.

I've suffered with fecal incontinence for almost 41 years and excessive sweating for about 20 years. I am going to try Nullo tablets because I've tried everything else I know of. All of the detox/diet/exercise/soaking/etc hasn't changed a thing for me. The active ingredient in Nullo is chlorophylln, a water soluble form of chlorophyll, that is more readily available to the body because it can easily be transmitted through the bloodstream.

I'm ordering the tablets today, have set this page to send me notifications and will update you on my progress as I go along. There is 50 years of evidence that this safely works for all types of body odor, If not completely neutralizing, very effective minimizing of body odors. I don't know why this has never been suggested to us before considering that hospitals use it.

Anyway. Stay strong. We should make a support group on facebook. If you are interested just let me know in the comments here and I will set up a secret group.

    Much love to you all.

    5 years suffering (guest)

My son is nonfunctional. He is 13 yo & is approx 5 months post his 2nd Chiari decompression surgery. He first got sick when he was 8yo. He suffers with a headache 24/7,neck pain, tinnitus, extreme sensitivity to sound & stands up & his legs mottle & he gets burning pain. He hasn't been able to go to school due to symptoms & has recently had ct myelogram indicating intracranial hypotension. The neurosurgeon said his spine looked good on myelogram & is 99.9% sure he doesn't have a leak. Unfortunately the decompression did not relieve his headache. He now gets twitching in his face on/off which is very troubling to him.

The NS thinks my son is not producing enough CSF. His opening pressure was 1 & prior to his recent surgery it was close to zero.
The NS wants to possibly treat with Midodrine & salt tablets. My concerns are possible electrolyte imbalance or developing hypertension if we do this? He said his sympathetic tone is low & we have to try to find way to increase the tone. He is consulting with his team for a plan.
Has anyone been thru similar or have any knowledge on this? I am so scared for my son. He is only 13 & has been thru so much. Remarkably he has no neuro deficits from this condition. I just want to get him well & functional. Thanks in advance for any suggestions or help. My heart goes out to everyone suffering from this condition.

Nice job kid. Good luck finding the answer to WHY infrasound affects us the way it does. But, why spend your time there? It's vibrations unravel us. That's all you need to know. Thanks again, Bill Howes.

I will say this. I have an hourglass shape. My periods are anything but consistent. I have always been unregular unless on the pill. I've suffered from endometriosis my entire life. I even had it along with an ovary removed a couple of years back but everyones periods always conform to mine or get thrown off by mine. People with normal periods get thrown off a few days. One girl who hadnt had a period in 3 years had one after me staying there for a few days. My sister-in-law who has only ovulated a few times in her life and was on fertitity drugs to get pregnant with no luck, went off them and then managed to get pregnant twice and both times were right after spending a week with me. I was just there visiting and she said she got cramps a few days after i left, keep in mind she doesn't get periods and is on a long term birth control (also note this is the same trip the girl who hasn't had a period in 3 years got hers). Meanwhile my cycle is on day 44 of no period. I did spot barely 6 days ago but it is crazy how some of our horomones and cycles affect others.

I agree with you that the original comment is absolutely ridiculous. The author is sharing her experiences in a way to inform and educate us, not saying that, "Americans are stupid." You are being very ignorant...

My boyfriend of 7 years does this same thing. While I love him to death. We also have a 2 year old and can't have him just peeing wherever in the house. I'm so worried about what may happen to him bc he gets very aggressive when I try and help him and lately I will jump out of bed to guide him to the toilet so he doesn't get pee all over and I have to clean it up bc he doesn't remember. But l, then I'm not sure of he really doesn't remember or even care. This can't keep happening and I'm just so torn I can't just up and leave if I think he may need help.

Hi everyone: just came across this debate. To end this disagreement right away, perception is one of the paramount aspects in life; a very large portion of your personality can be derived from this alone. It sounds like I'm on a different spectrum--english, philosophy; you guys, the science side--so I won't be using any science terms. By bringing perception into the conversation and discussing it in terms of science is a mistake from the get go. Perception is unique to each individual. We are each born with something, but throughout the years, our adult version solidifies with time. There are many ways to do this, but I'm trying to think of the quickest.

The nexus of perception lies with (in a basic sense) how open minded are you? Do you look at your front door and see deadbolted security? or do you see it as only a passageway with a door in front (installed by a man/woman, just as easily taken apart)? Transient, I would say. Those of you intrigued with this article probably wonder what it would be like to lay on your back in the cool summer grass, and even have a ten second glimpse through a small chasm in the wallpapered sky, and what an experience it would be! Now the other side on the discussion is providing theory, statistics, impossibilities, etc. This is actually a textbook example of the differenes between those with more open-minded pereption vs. the more close-minded. Both have strengths and weaknesses.

If you haven't read or studied William Blake, begin there. A couple quotes from him. (I'll just list three: 1757-1827)

    1) "If the doors of perception were cleansed every thing would appear to man as it is, Infinite. For man has closed himself up, till he sees all things thro' narrow chinks of his cavern."
    2) "To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
    And Eternity in an hour."
    3) "What is now proved was once only imagined."

So that's it...I'll go on to say that Blake was and is even more so today the most highly thought of intellectual from 1750-Present. Last thing I'll write is the dividing point. This is also why there is bantering back and forth in the train of responses. My Dad is a pHD ChemE. You ask him to do some byzantine calculation, maybe proofs, research, whatever...and he'll ace it all! Afterward you ask him to do anything at all not by the book, not with calculator, something not generalized, hopefully with imagination/creativity. Forget about it. Then on my side, its the opposite spectrum: I may churn out 3 poems in an hour and start working on a story, but I had already lost a tennis shoe before I started, and now that hour has past, I'm completely shoeless and I jogging aroung looking for one of my socks.

Thats the difference in perception. I call the extremes Cynical vs Dreamer. That should put a lot in perspective. I guess two more was to qualify Blake is that the band The Doors took their name from Quote #1, and if you've seen the movie Red Dragon, Blake painted that. Peace.

If all mammals have a neo cortex, where is the part that suddenly appeared in humans about 200,000 years ago? Where and what is the newest part of the human neo cortex, the part that made us humans? It cannot be the whole neo cortex, because all mammals have this. did it simply get a little bigger? If so, in which direction did it grow? Where are the new cells?

Not only does Valium work on humans but dogs as well. My brothers dog was 9 years old when he started having seizures. One night he was having them back to back and they were getting worse so I had my sister look online to see if there was anything we could give him and it said to try Valium. Once we gave it to him he didn't have anymore that night.

Hello, My name is Emma. I am a Freshmen in highschool and I have to write a research paper about a career I want to pursue when I graduate. Immediately I knew that I was going to write it about Forensics Anthropology. I was wondering if you could possible give me an interview for my paper and/or send me the hours you put in at work? If you could do that, that would be greatly appreciated.

    Sincerely,
    ~ An Aspiring Forensics Anthropologist

After about 30 years of treatment for extremely severe migraines my pain changed to being at the base of my skull with sharp pain behind my eye and through my shoulder blades. I was diagnosed with an 8mm chiari. No neurologist has ever made a dent in my headaches or even treated them in a way that didn't cause a multitude of other issues. After my diagnosis a Mayo family practice doctor gave me torodol, dexomethozone and phenergan together. It was like a miracle and I could literally feel my brain shrink inside my skull and my ear canals open. And within minutes I went from pain that no one could even imagine to absolutely zero pain. I know torodol use needs to be monitored carefully, but I literally never miss out on life or work and feel like other normal humans must feel for the first time in my life. Has anyone else here had success with these meds? I am also taking TTumeric supplements that are helping manage inflammation in my skull on a daily basis!

Do not fly! I don't know if anyone told you but your brain could herniate through the defect if the cabin is not pressurized properly. Secondly, get physical copies of all of your records and not just office/doctor notes or opinions but actual slides and images of your scans and tests. Thirdly, take a boat to America like a cruise ship. Try and get to Duke located in Raleigh Durham and walk right into the emergency room. Have a doctor there right down that you should not fly and your medical reasons why. Then try and get help from social services department and see about getting some kind of assistance until your surgical repair in helping you locate a place to stay temporarily. I have survived a surgeon fracturing my skull while under anesthesia and after almost loosing my life, I was surgically saved and repaired at Duke University. I will never forget the team of doctors whom cared for me. You will need an otolaryngologist ENT that specializes in basil skull defects and a neurologist because your repair also deals with the brain. You may possibly need a shunt and or drain until your ICP is regulated. It is possible to survive this. Until then please follow DR. Robert Morse to loose as much weight as possibly safe for you. The less you weigh, the better your recovery and possible pressure issues will be managed. Do not listen to other nonsense about what's safe and not safe to eat. Treat food as if it were medicine from now on. No alcohol and start with keeping a detailed log of what your eating/drinking to evaluate what you've consumed and how it makes you feel. Log details of your medical history and daily tasks making sure to note your limitations. My opinion is that of doctors don't know nor have all the answers. The surgeon that caused my skull fracture resulting in partial brain herniation just wanted me to die of meningitis and disappear. Please do not give up. My prayers are with you.

Thanks for your questions. Any molecule or ion that can cross the dialysis tubing in one direction can also cross in the other direction. We have observed that, over time, the solution in the beaker becomes much lighter as more of the iodine diffuses into the bag. In our experience the solution does not become entirely clear. Iodine-iodide (KI) solution is less stable in light, but I wouldn’t expect it to break down that rapidly (http://www.onboces.org/safety/msds/S/Scholar%20Chemical/Iodine-Iodide_KI_Solution_355.00.pdf).

To enhance student understanding, some figures have been added to the Student Handout and some of the questions have been revised and reorganized. The Teacher Preparation Notes have been expanded to include more background biology and instructional suggestions.

When the bag of starch solution is placed in the beaker of water/IKI, we are wondering if:
    1) the IKI moves in AND out of the bag?
    2) the water moves in AND out of the bag?
    2) if the beaker is left out for several hours (or overnight), the bag becomes very dark whereas the solution in the beaker becomes clear. Is this because all the IKI diffuses in or because of photo-decomposition?

    Thank you
