Now Some More Fun and Games

Have you ever considered that some of the difficulties we all have with reading is because our brain is having its own conflict with the in-put it is getting? Try the following exercise.

Directions:

As you observe the list, say the actual color not the word, out loud.

RED GREEN BLUE PURPLE

YELLOW BLUE GREEN RED

PURPLE GREEN BLUE YELLOW

Ok. You can stop arguing with yourself. The issue is that your right brain wants to say the color, but your left brain is trying to say the word. So you are really having an argument in your brain that "YOU" are unawre of . Try to think about what this may suggest in a classroom for you.
