General Schedule for my Balanced Classroom

General Schedule of All Classes  

(except 8th period which will have an extra 5-10 mins each day of stress reduction activities)

 

 

Every day:      

  • Give out blank papers while I take role.
  • Write name, day, and date on top
  • Copy topics from whiteboard underneath name etc.
  • Prepare to write, draw, or doodle while you listen to my 5-10 minutes start of class.
  • Place in “Free Thoughts” (teacher will use for (keys to Cognitive Unconscious) tabbed section of your binder.
  • Deliveries during  middle to end of class (movement)

Monday:

  • Reflect - Teacher
  • Introduce  - Teacher
  • Jigsaw (movement)What's a good STORY that explains our understanding of the <science content> last week?  judgment, emotion, keys to Cognitive Unconscious 
    How can you connect that story to <Science content> that we will do this week? speculation, anticipation, keys to CU

Tuesday:

  • Reflect - Teacher
  • Discuss activity, list roles - Teacher but that students select or leader assigns (control)
  • White board or slate:  set up by teacher, facilitated by students (movement) .
  • Information  or pre-lab: questioned, recorded, tested, modeled - facilitated by students, guided by Background Teacher

Wednesday:

  • Reflect - Teacher
  • Discuss activity, ist roles - Teacher but that students select or leader assigns (control)
  • Physical- hands on Inquiry:  expectations set by teacher, distributed by leader students.(movement) Group work questioned and  guided by roving Teacher

Thursday:

  • Reflect - Teacher
  • Discuss activity, assign roles - Teacher
  • White Board or Activslate or Activotes:  set up by teacher, facilitated by students (movement) .
  • Information  or post-lab: questioned, recorded, tested, modeled - facilitated by students, guided by Background Teacher

Friday:

  • Reflection STORIES - Teacher
  • Technology (movement):  Students give out laptops or Palms, run a class lab or exploration or chat session using Elluminate or Moodle (student control)
  • Best of Day/Week Awards
