My name is Deidre Bennett; I am the Reading Curriculum Coordinator at Samuel B. Huey which is located in the heart of west Philadelphia.  I am entering my 5th year at Huey and my 11th in the district.  I am enjoying my journey through life, particularly in my career.  I am whole heartedly dedicated to enriching student lives and supporting my peers so that they may better serve our children.  There are many obstacles/ issues that distract or prohibit our students from learning, but as an educator we are obligated to try no matter the difficulties.

The Serenity Prayer best describes my approach to life.

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
