"piece-wise, never absolutely"

Lately, I've been relating to some of these threads with reference to comedy and tragedy.  It seems as if tragedy is more a realm of absolutes, of form as limiting, of the way the story ends, while comedy is more a realm of the "piece-wise," of story after story, of "often, but a little at a time."  I am trying to nudge myself into a comic outlook on the impossibilities of being a person -- if to be a person is to want and at the same time to [want to] see beyond human connection -- and to feel a good deal of discomfort and isolation all along this spectrum of desire!
