Cloud Resources
My husband and I enjoy traveling and have been to many beautiful and interesting places. I really love to look at clouds, preferably from above them.

I am taking a Brain and Behavior class and we are working on a summer project. We were told to think of something that interests us and we can use in the classroom. Since our first Science unit happens to be weather I thought I would do a bit of research on clouds.
When I began searching the web I saw this cute website called Web Weather for Kids. It has games, stories, and activities. You can check it out at: http://eo.ucar.edu/webweather/cumulus.html
Another wonderful site that I found is called Weather Wiz Kids and it answers many questions about clouds. What clouds are? How are they formed? How do clouds float? There is also a cloud chart showing their altitudes. This website also includes pictures and descriptions of clouds. Finally, there are cloud activities with lesson plans included and some experiments. Here is the link for that website: http://www.weatherwizkids.com/temperature.htm
An old favorite of mine is the Enchanted Learning website. I think the Wild Weather Quiz can be used as a fun review of our Weather Unit.

The next site is a Science Project called : Clouds for Kids and is geared for ages 6-10. Here is the link: http://mynasadata.larc.nasa.gov/P1.html
Here is a cloud experiment from NASA explores K-4 Lesson on types of clouds:

Here is the link to the article "Its a Good Day for a Launch" that was mentioned in the cloud experiment: http://www.nasaexplores.com/search_nav_k_4.php?id=03-056&gl=k4
Being a lover of children's books I couldn't pass up the opportunity of looking for new books for my classroom, so I went to http://browse.barnesandnoble.com/browse/nav.asp?visgrp=children's&N=704607+4501&Ne=300335+704178+4501+704596+4501+704607+4501&z=y
and found four new books! At the end of the book called
The Cloud Book by Tomie de Paola there is a "cloud story".
This last link takes you to a site by Dr. R. E. Carlson called :
Cool Clouds for "Kids" of All Ages
He tells you that you may use the pictures for educational purposes. He has his pictures categorized and you just click on the title. He also provides text with the pictures (just click on the text boxes)
