Sartain's Recollections of 1830s Philadelphia

In 1897, the 25th Annual Report of the Fairmount Park Art Association (Philadelphia, 1897), pp. 29-36, published some descriptive recollections of the Philadelphia of the 1830s offered by the artist John Sartain (1808-97).  The actual meeting was held in October 1896; Sartain would pass away a year later.  The text of this report has been posted by the Hathi Trust at http://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=mdp.39015074665673;view=1up;seq=14.
