My 2/3 split was doing a social studies assignment, I don't recall the specific community/neighborhood topic.Whatever it was, the assignment emergence into what was the community /neighhood like in the past, If changed, why? What was difference? They had to talk with either the person who had lived in the neighborhood at least twenty years or more, or the oldest in age( 60 or older) whom have lived over a period of time in the community. They were allowed to question a older family member who have lived in their community thirty years, or more. They were to conclude with a paper of their findings.I myself was able to engage with the children in discussion of some differences that had changed in my own community. As we explored, the more information continue to emergence from the assignment.
