Grant proposal $300
Grant Proposal/$300
This year I will be teaching two grades and will need various materials to institute some of the ideas I have for the semester pertaining to theater and drama. The $300 will actually be seed money for some of the things I will need to purchase for the school year. I plan to have my school cover the additional costs. I will be purchasing a video camera to record two productions I plan on producing/directing this year. I haven’t done this in the past and feel it will be a good idea to archive for future use. Also, I will be purchasing various costumes for the productions. The idea of having a professional actor/artist come in twice during the year to entertain and show my students various types of performance art, such as mime was discussed last year at my school and can now be instituted by me with part of this grant money. Another helpful tool in keeping with this summer’s institute ideas will be my purchase of a new CD Rom interactive video game called BACKSTAGE. This is a cd-rom video game for the “amateur” thespian to discover the sights and sounds of the stage by being presented with challenges and puzzles (in music, dance, and drama) and they will also interact with some of the personalities found behind the scenes of a theatrical production. It’s very innovative and will give students an opportunity in the classroom to be backstage during a production.
Breakdown of costs:
Professional actor/ $ 50 bucks
CD_ROM/ $25-30
Camera/ $150-200
Costumes, extras/$25. Additional cost will be covered by my school.
