In The Omnivore's Dilemma, Michael Pollan takes on a number of pieces of conventional wisdom. He challenges the Whole Foods supermarket chain, for instance, for obscuring, in its marketing, its involvement in the "industrial organic complex." Contrariwise, he challenges vegans & vegetarians for their failure to understand how the natural world works, and finds their ethical position naive. So how do you react to such claims?
