Online lectures a great source for Distance Learning

Among thousands of application of advanced IT technologies, one emerging and popular niche is "distance learning", one can find hundreds of websites offering purposeful distance learning, these online schools are really proving a great service to third world countries where education system is poor and people can't afford to go abroad for education.

Online videos being a basic constituent of distance learning but I don't really agree with disadvantages of recording lectures.

- capturing inappropriate interaction?

Recorded lectures can be edited before the final version is uploaded

- virtual thus not real and not educational

How education can be 'not educational' (I am sorry but I really don't agree with this)

- students mis-using/mis-interpreting

If the lecture is detailed then students will understand it in a much better way because they can reverse and can listen to the lecture again.
