Woodpecker?

On Tuesday we met in Morris Woods behind English House. We sat in a circle on the ground next to the cemetery.

1. Where do we sit? It is harder to establish order and seating than in the usual classroom. We stand around for a few minutes, indecisive. We sacrifice our jackets and bags as sit upons. Caleb sits on a rock. When we do the fishbowl, everybody gets dirty.

2. There is no wifi in the woods. We lost the ability to look things up durring class. Computers feel strange in the dirt.

3. It's so loud. We talk about Silent Spring, but our spring is nowhere close.

4. We interact directly with our space, observing and manipulating it. Liz hears a sound and asks aloud, "woodpecker?" Marian and Abby build a house of sticks. I see hands in the dirt and hands holding sticks and twigs.

5. I'm so itchy. Something keeps poking me. My butt is wet. My foot falls asleep multiple times.
