Revisiting the Site Sit -- Experience

Ariel Skye's picture

Looking back at my other site sit postings, I’ve realized I haven’t talked genuinely about my experience at my site sit. I think that I, like much of the class, subconsciously edit my experience (even as it’s happening) because I have an agenda at my site by the duck pond. I hope to experience something (think, imagine, sing, write, nap), and then translate and edit it into a posting. Moving forward, I don’t want to be editing my experience as its happening, and just let it happen. Anne said she’s bored with the site sit postings--to be honest I’ve been bored of writing them. I’ve figured out that it’s because I’m running out of ways I feel like we should experience our site, and the ways we should write about it. Just something to think about... go out and truly experience something (not what you think Anne or the rest of the class would like you to write about) and then later (maybe give it a couple of days)  reflect on that experience in whatever way makes sense to you. This is my goal for my site sit posting today.
