This is more "asking for clarification" than clarifying, I think, Emily, but now I feel I'm going in circles (which may be a consequence of Ann's refusing the "hierarchical" ordering principles in this game we're up to this summer...!)

When you say 'blended learning done right" means profs should "be careful not to overuse these tools by using them to replace nice, old-fashioned classroom discussions," I hear echoes of Kim's opening talk @ the BL conference, when she said that "no fundamental truth about learning" had emerged from the Mellon-sponsored initiatives: "really nothing you couldn’t do w/ pencil and paper"; basically, "students who do their homework do better in classes."

So...why are we pursuing this? What is it getting us?
