Also, my sister has recently decided to take up some disability advocacy of her own, completely unencouraged by anyone but herself. I thought I'd share a post she made on facebook about her desire to begin a journey of advocacy and empowerment:

"I have a disability. This motivates me to learn and understand people with all other disablities. I've ment peoplw with psycical dissblies. They are funny and very sweet.
I find my older sister Ariel Koren to be very supportive about my learning disablities.
(She tought spanish to me amd my friends im high school.) She and my little sister Eliza are veet supportive. For example, Ariel has mentioned me in news paper aticle. Eliza is super honest amd she'll point things out if I'm doing something wrong. Like one time I took a picture of the painting and she said you cant take pictures of the paitings. To prove this the artist gave me a look.
I don't remember where I was and who the artist was. Though alot of pain, I have learned to label myself. I have learned that I can do anything I set my mind to. Slowly but surely I cam do it. I jusy have to work harder. Lastly, I learned that when something is hard ut helps you groe and it makes it easier the next time. Like reading a challening text book."

Incoming shameless plug: she has a page on facebook that she's just beginning to work on https://www.facebook.com/disabilityconnectjacksonville/?fref=mentions, feel free to follow/like to see where she takes it :)
