One issue the film raised is the issue of accomadations and recognition for disability and the need for protest for change. With the protests, I think it shows the value that community had and how it influenced its success by helping them stay commited. The community within the camp created an environment where disabled people were able to gain a sense of belonging and freedom. With this, disabled people had something to strive for that they weren't getting out of society. There was a scene with a protest in which disabled individuals blocked roads to protest. If not for community, the protest would not have had the numbers necessary to make it as effective as it was. Even with this, the film also showed the issue of getting recognized in society through the protests that were being ignored by those with the power to pass the ADA.
