The results!!

The results of my projects were fantastic!!! Though the purchasing of the materials did not quite coincide with the study of the unit, students (and other teachers) have been very interested in the field guides purchased. Whenever there are a few free moments, or after a test, students are free to check out one of the many field guides that are relevant to the wetland ecosystem we studied in the fall. There are also many guides to help them identify trees, birds, insects, wildflowers, weeds, butterflies, and all kinds of other living things they may find in their own backyard!

Next year I hope to refine the wetlands section of the Ecology unit we do to be more inquiry based. Using the materials aquired through the institute, students will be able to feel the thrill of discovery along with the satifaction of learning new materials.
