1. It is incorrect to claim that the earth has no agency, it isn't going to take our abuse for much longer
2. As humans, we have already surpassed the earth's limits, in many ways it's already too late
3. anthropomorphizing the natural world isn't just a literary/philosophical device, it is literally the way the world works
