Places to Take the Environmental Club

Rosemary Krygowski's picture

Since this institute focuses on place, I think I should focus on some places to take my newly formed club. The first place I would like them to visit is Whale Camp, the environmental camp that they will have the opportunity to attend next summer. We would get to this place using Google Earth. All they would have to do to get there is click this link.                       .After we arrived at Grand Manan we would visit the Whale Camp.Using this link www.whalecamp.com/   From this point I would like to introduce them to the right whales. This again can be done using the web. Some good web sites would be  en.wikipedia.org/wiki.Another good site might be www.afsc.noaa.gov/NMML/education/cetaceans/right2.and www.learner.org/jnorth/search/RightWhale.html. I think the kids will also like taking a radio expedition by way of this link http://www.npr.org/programs/atc/features/2001/nov/rightwhale/. Sitting at computers really isn't the way I plan to run my club but if it is raining this just might be nice to have something to do.
