SUMMER INSTITUTES FOR PHILADELPHIA TEACHERS - 2001

Sponsored by Bryn Mawr College under a grant from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute

Continuing a series of offerings begun in 1990, two two-week Institutes to bring together Bryn Mawr faculty and precollege teachers from the Philadelphia School District will be offered during the summer of 2001. Each Institute will meet in the Park Science Center at Bryn Mawr College five days a week from 9 am to 4 pm. In both Institutes, Bryn Mawr faculty and Philadelphia school district teachers will share perspectives on how to enhance science and mathematics education thorugh out the curriculum and at all levels of the educational enterprise. Among the major themes of both Institutes will be

Participants in each Institute will receive a stipend and development grant to implement and report on curriculum changes resulting from the Institute experience. Interested teachers may apply to one or both Institutes. Additional information about each institute, and about last summer's Institutes, is available from the links below.
