Serendip and Bryn Mawr College are located in the state of Pennsylvania, in the north eastern part of the United States, on the North American continent.Togo is located on the southern coast of western Africa. The capital of the United States, Washington, D.C., is about 100 miles south of Serendip. Lomé, the capital of Togo, is about 5300 miles (8500 kilometers) southeast of Washington (see both on a map from Xerox PARC map viewer). Lome's time zone is five hours ahead of Washington, D.C.
