DO WE TRUST IN DEMOCRACY?

What we truly believe comes out in all kinds of ways and all kinds of places. In our design of businesses we often end up relying on an authoritarian body to hold the reins and frequently the whip. Read the descriptions of boards of directors.

In educational institutions, look at boards of trustees or school committees. Are they not conceived to serve just like boards of directors? At the teacher and classroom level even when we get to the point of talking about learner-centered learning do we have the courage, conviction and trust to do it? Is it not much the same with parenting?

In government (which involves us all), really understanding and believing in democracy is the most important. It is where seeing it and doing it from the top down instead of from the bottom up is most destructive and uncreative. Building or growing all happen in our natural environment from the bottom. It is at the bottom that we discover why.

Is not creativity at the bottom of all systems, including democracy?
