The "biology", from which follows ...

Is a "scientific" story, ie is "assailable": reflects describable observations, has implications ... needs to be compared to other stories in those terms, accepted (always tentatively) if useful

• body is not distinct from mind or "self" but also is not co-extensive with either
• "self" is an aspect of brain function; it is not simply a resultant but has itself causal significance
• "culture" is not independent of "biology" but is built out of biological entities - it would be expected to display properties that relate to this underpinning and can not be manipulated independently of the underpinnings
