SOME NEUROBIOLOGICAL BACKGROUND

  • People are brains
  • Every brain is unique
  • Brains have and make use of a degree of unpredictablity.
  • Brains make up stories. They learn by acting on them and observing the results ... and repeating ad finitum
  • There are three (plus) story creating/story modifying loops
    • inside/outside
    • conscious/unconscious
    • brain to brain
  • The best educational experiences involve exercise of all three loops, an inevitably risk-taking activity.
