Curio Theatre Company is a professional 501c3 non-profit performing theatre company, also operating outreach and education services in University City and beyond. The company is new to the area and will begin their work in Calvary Center this May, 2005. Curio and Calvary Center for Culture and Community are currently working together to launch an ongoing capital campaign to restore and renovate the sanctuary within Calvary Church to create a new performing arts venue, which the theatre company will then occupy. Curio will begin their work with children at Calvary this summer with a Theatre Camp in July, and will launch their new theatre school, offering classes for children and adults of all ages, year round, in September. Education and Outreach is a prime focus for the company, which hopes to make inroads into the community through extensive work with area schools and community groups.
