The Bridge

I remembered the statues on the bridge as a compeling and rich portrayal of human life in a variety of activities. I remembered too their nakedness. What struck me this time was their comfort in themselves, standing and acting indifferent to those passing by.

I was struck as well this time by four particular groups of figures, by the grotto, which I had missed entirely on my first visit, and by mythic figures positioned above the very human statues.
