Bryn Mawr College
Lithography Workshop
A WWW Exhibit of Student Work
The Lithography Workshop was offered by
Ava Blitz ,
Fine Arts professor
at Bryn Mawr, in the fall of 1994.
Lithography is a printmaking process dating back to the late
1700s. The image is first drawn on limestone with greasy drawing
material. It is then chemically treated or etched with gum arabic and
nitric acid. This makes it possible to print multiple copies on paper
using a lithographic press.
These are the prints created by students who participated in the workshop.
