Both before and after the upcoming election, it will be important for people to engage in vigorous, honest dialogue. Too often, however, political discourse does not occur because people don't want to be challenged or yelled at. Still--and especially given the contentious nature of this election--many people have strong feelings and emotions about the candidates and the issues. Join us at the Multicultural Center as we examine how we discuss politics and our views with each other. Pizza and soda will be served! Come find out why people were offended. Introducing the first CMLS film and discussion: Ethnic Notions. Ethnic Notions is Marlon Riggs' Emmy-winning documentary that takes viewers on a disturbing voyage through American history, tracing for the first time the deep-rooted stereotypes which have fueled anti-black prejudice.
